AJC Youth Healthcare Industry Forum - April 23, 2025

Gadsden Independent School District high school students interested in a career in the healthcare industry are invited to attend the Youth Healthcare Industry Forum on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Gadsden Administrative Complex in Santa Teresa from 9AM to 12PM.


When people think about a career in healthcare, they often think of doctors and nurses. At this forum, students will hear from a panel of local healthcare industry professionals about different occupations available in the healthcare industry.

This event is in partnership with America's Job Center New Mexico, Gadsden Independent School District, and Doña Ana Community College.

YOUTH HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY FORUM PANELISTS:


Cassandria Branch, FNP-C

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

 

Cassandria Branch is a highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. With over 12 years of experience in healthcare, she is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all stages of life.

Ms. Branch brings a wealth of clinical expertise, having worked in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, and Labor & Delivery settings. Her experience in the ER has honed her ability to make rapid, life-saving decisions in high-pressure environments. At the same time, her time in the ICU has deepened her knowledge of managing critically ill patients with complex conditions. In Labor & Delivery, she provided compassionate, skilled support to mothers and newborns, ensuring safe and healthy deliveries.


She specializes in preventative, diagnostic, and treatment procedures for a variety of acute and chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, and kidney disease. As an advanced practice registered nurse, she works autonomously and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.


Ms. Branch is affiliated with United Healthcare and Optum and has connections with several medical institutions in New Mexico. 


In addition to her clinical practice, Ms. Branch founded Be Still CARE, LLC, a healthcare service dedicated to health and wellness evaluations, weight management, and acute care needs. Through this initiative, she strives to provide accessible, patient-focused care that supports individuals in her community in achieving their health goals.


Beyond her professional life, Ms. Branch enjoys hiking the scenic trails of New Mexico, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and reading books on leadership and healthcare innovations. She is also passionate about community outreach, often participating in local health initiatives to promote wellness and education.

Stephanie Nuñez


Stephanie Nuñez is a highly experienced clinical sonographer who has worked in diverse healthcare environments. In 2019, she began sharing her expertise by transitioning into sonography education, initially as an instructor, before moving on to her current role as program director in 2021. Stephanie’s teaching philosophy revolves around fostering equitable, responsive patient care and providing holistic support to her students—ensuring the next generation of sonographers enter the field well-prepared and compassionate.
