Through the WIOA Tuition Assistance program at New Mexico Workforce Connection, Ms. Rodriguez was able to attend Western New Mexico University. Ms. Rodriguez graduated in December 2020 with two bachelor's degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Not only did the WIOA Tuition Assistance program help pay for Ms. Rodriguez's tuition, but the program covered the cost of the books she needed for each semester totaling over $6,000 in assistance.
Since graduation, Ms. Rodriguez has passed her state licensure exam and found employment as a Registered Nurse. She is now attending a nurse residency program. Ms. Rodriguez stated, “It has always been a dream of mine to be a nurse. I always put others before myself and there is no better job than nursing where I will be able to do so. Thank you for all the help over the last few years!"
